On his social media platform, Truth Social, he outlined the importance of such measures: "If other Countries are allowed to use Tariffs against us, and we're not allowed to counter them, quickly and nimbly, with Tariffs against them, our Country doesn't have, even a small chance, of Economic survival."

Earlier, the president warned that the US economy would suffer a major setback if national courts struck down his administration's tariff measures.
