Tokyo hails US trade deal as mutually beneficial

The Japanese authorities have had to twist and turn to maintain diplomatic ties with Washington! According to Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, the trade agreement with the United States turned out to be mutually beneficial. But is that really the case?
Shigeru Ishiba described the tariff agreement signed between Tokyo and Washington as a form of cooperation that benefits both sides. Previously, the two countries agreed that Japan would invest $550 billion in the US economy while imposing reciprocal tariffs of 15%.
Ishiba expressed confidence that the agreement would help generate employment opportunities in the United States while avoiding job losses in Japan. He suggested that this form of mutually beneficial cooperation could contribute to peace and stronger trade relations.
US President Donald Trump appeared to echo that sentiment. He stated that the agreement with Tokyo might be the largest in history. “Japan would invest, at my direction, $550 billion into the United States, which will receive 90% of the Profits,” Trump concluded.
