US president aims to fight windmills like Don Quixote
US President Donald Trump has called for a fight against windmills. He advocates for stopping them in both the economy and politics.
“Stupid and ugly windmills are killing New Jersey. This year, energy prices have risen by 28%, and there isn’t enough electricity to power the state. Stop the windmills!” the state leader posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.
According to analysts, Donald Trump has repeatedly spoken out against wind energy. In January 2025, he banned new offshore wind farm leases on the continental shelf. This decision will remain in effect until economic and environmental assessments are completed. The American leader explained his decision by stating that wind farms are “ugly, expensive, and harmful to wildlife.”
Earlier, the British newspaper The Guardian sarcastically questioned Donald Trump’s mental capacity following his frequent and bizarre statements. The article’s authors also mentioned the president’s sudden remarks about windmills during his visit to the United Kingdom.
