The fortune of the world's richest people (1% of the total population) is equal to the total income of the remaining 99% of inhabitants. The organization also reports that 62 people have the same amount of assets as all the poorest people put together. According to the Oxfam study, the rich have now become richer, and the poor have become poorer.
Five years ago, the wealth of the poorest half of humanity could be equated to the fortune of 388 people. At the same time, the income of the poorest half of the world's population (about 3.6 billion people) has fallen by a trillion dollars since 2010.
