The number of people killed in Haiti by Hurricane Matthew hit 1,000. Matthew was also blamed for 26 deaths in North Carolina, 12 in Florida, four in South Carolina, three in Georgia and one in Virginia.

“Our state has gone through a very traumatic, violent and emotional disaster,” North Carolina Governor McCrory said, “but now we need to reinvent ourselves on how do we recover from this.”
Matthew hit the US after Cuba. Then it moved very close to the coasts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina.
The residents of a North Carolina county were evacuated because of the threat of flooding caused by the hurricane.
Employees of the US National Hurricane Centre were able to track the force of Matthew and found out that the wind was dying down. The center's employees said that in few days the power of hurricane would completely come to naught.
In addition Matthew also visited the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba, and the Bahamas.
